Visa & Travel Support

As a Highly Trusted Sponsor, Notre Dame will issue a CAS ( Certificate of Acceptance for Studies) which will allow you to apply for a student visa under the Points based System (PBS).

If you require a Tier 4 Adult General Visa, you must prove you are competent in English language at a minimum of CEFR level B1 and via an approved English test. If you are applying for a Tier 4 Child visa, you will still need to demonstrate your English but may not need an approved test. Nationals of a majority English-speaking country as determined by the UKBA do not need to take such a test.

However we can only give limited advice about visa application, so please consult the UK Border Agency website for more details and guidance, please check out the links on this page for more detailed information.

By Air:

Travel to Leeds Bradford by air

Leeds has an international airport Leeds Bradford Airport (code LBA). When arriving in the UK for the first time we strongly recommend flying into Leeds Bradford Airport if possible. KLM www.klm.com and Air France www.airfrance.com, run flights directly to Leeds Bradford Airport via Amsterdam (AMS) or Paris (CDG). This removes the need to transport large items of luggage across an unfamiliar city – for example London – at a time when the student may be feeling tired and vulnerable. Students arriving at Leeds Bradford Airport will be met by a representative from Notre Dame who will transport them safely to their accommodation free of charge. Students arriving at airports other than Leeds Bradford Airport will have to travel to Leeds via taxi, train or bus. Manchester Airport (MAN) is the next closest international airport. A pre-booked taxi from Manchester Airport to Leeds will cost approximately £135.

By Rail and Coach:

Travel to Leeds by train

Leeds has a main train station and also a coach station. Students arriving to either Leeds Train or Coach station will be met by a representative from Notre Dame who will transport them safely to their accommodation free of charge. If travelling from London by train, it is advisable to book in advance on the following website for train tickets: www.thetrainline.com
