Friendships Bloom on Valentine’s Day

Notre Dame’s students celebrated Valentine’s Day in a variety of ways this year. Our Student Exec sold more than 300 roses to raise funds for charity (which one is still to be decided). They delivered each flower without revealing the sender, brightening the day of every recipient.

In addition, a dozen of our students took part in a Valentine’s Escape, a lunchtime speed friending event in the college theatre. Attendees were paired off and asked each other a series of questions to get to know their new acquaintances. This event was organised by student Cothney Lasaracina. Lower sixth attendee Mercy Pokuaah Bekoe said, “I met amazing new people who had the same interests as me. Having people that listen to you and do not judge you is really helpful. It was great.''

As an extra surprise, the staff and student choir sang Can’t Take My Eyes Off You during lunch break in the lower study area.
