What do I need to study this course?
Grade 6 in GCSE English Language. In addition, you will require a curiosity about language and how it is used, as well as a love of reading.
What will I study?
You will analyse how writers and speakers use language in various contexts. You will also study how language varies across different groups of people, by age, gender, nationality and occupation. You will learn how English has changed over the last 400 years and how children acquire their first language. Finally, you will complete some creative writing and an investigative project.
What next?
A-level English Language can lead to a very wide variety of degree courses and careers, including teaching, writing and publishing.
