Outstanding results for our phenomenal students!

The hard work and dedication has certainly paid off for the class of 2017! Our A level and BTEC/CTEC results were even better than last year’s with an overall pass rate of 98.6% with 46.1% of all grades at A*-B.

There were some outstanding individual performances as well:

  • 31 students achieved 3 A or A* grades at A level
  • 13 students achieved 4 A or A* grades at A level
  • 1 student achieved 5 A or A* grades at A level
  • 29 students achieved Double Distinction* in BTEC/CTEC

These excellent results have enabled a record number of students to go on and study medicine in September. In addition, all 6 Oxbridge applicants achieved the grades they needed and will be heading to two of the best universities in the world!

Notre Dame offers the widest range of A level subjects in Leeds and our students have achieved the coveted high grades in each and every subject. For over a quarter of a century, Notre Dame students have been extremely successful, and have progressed to incredible destinations including worldwide top universities, some of the most competitive apprenticeships and full-time employment. Our staff and students work exceptionally hard and we couldn’t be more proud!

Principal Terry Coen said: ‘These represent the best results ever for Notre Dame. Staff worked tremendously hard to ensure students were well prepared for the new linear A levels and students have responded magnificently. As a result, the overwhelming majority of our students have won their place at the university of their choice or are moving on successfully to work or apprenticeships.  Notre Dame is an open access college and welcomes students of all abilities and backgrounds so it is particularly gratifying to see so many students from disadvantaged backgrounds achieving excellent qualifications and now able to move into their future with renewed confidence and high aspirations. Very well done to all and best wishes for the future.’
