Places in the academies are allocated following trials in August and September where you will be invited to submit your playing application. A high level of fitness is required for the programme and you must meet the college’s academic requirements. You should at least be playing for your local and/or school team with some professional club trial experience and county trial standard. Former sport academy students have progressed to professional and non-league clubs including the England Schoolboy (Under 18) team, and soccer scholarships in the USA.
Through links with the Bradford Dragons, there are opportunities to compete nationally in the Junior Dragons Under 18s Programme and potentially progress to the senior men’s team in Division 1. TEAM ND Notre Dame’s TEAM ND has a proud history of sporting achievements. Alongside our very successful sport academies, we also have a range of sports teams that compete on Wednesday afternoons in the Association of Colleges Yorkshire and Humber League. Currently our students represent the College in netball, basketball, boxing, rugby, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. Being part of TEAM ND will enhance your experience at Notre Dame and provide you with outstanding opportunities both during and after your time at college. The sports season culminates with an awards ceremony to celebrate the successes of the year.
