Student Talks Her Way to Public Speaking Prize

Congratulations to Notre Dame student Hannah Begum who came second in the 2022 Catenians Annual Catholic Schools Public Speaking Contest. James Ellis also took part, performed very well, and was placed in the top ten. Both students are pictured above with Assistant Principal Andy Kellett, who accompanied them to the event.

On February 17, four of our students auditioned to take part in the contest, with Hannah and James being chosen to represent our college at Holy Trinity School in Barnsley on March 13.

Both students spoke for four minutes on their chosen topic:

Hannah Begum: To be “woke” is important.

James Ellis: The wisdom of the elderly is a treasure trove which can be useful to young people.

We’re very proud of them both for taking on this challenge.
