Business T Level Talk: Sidekick PR

Yesterday, T Level Business and Administration had Charlotte Dimond, one of the Directors at Sidekick PR, visit to talk about the world of PR and strategic communications, as well as sharing her own career journey.

The purpose of the session was to give students an insight into careers that they may not have heard of before, to help them make their future choices. Charlotte showed them that journeys can be complicated and what they think they want to do or start doing is not always their final point. The students asked lots of questions and were interested to know about the opportunities in the industry, readying themselves for their next steps after Notre Dame. Charlotte iscussed the importance of experience to show dedication and commitment, with what they do showing their communication skills. Students said that one of the most interesting points of the talk was to says yes to things as 'what was the worst that could happen!', for example, she used when she said she could be the basketball correspondent despite knowing little about basketball.

As well as this, Charlotte discussed her own journey and what she does now alongside being a director - she is a magistrate, lecturer and does voluntary work.

Students asked a variety of questions, ranging from things to do with earnings in the industry, examples of crisis communication, and starting your own business. Feedback on the session was great from students, saying that they found it informative and interesting, and made them think of PR as a possible option to consider in the future.
