Wear It Pink Day Raises Over £400

On the 20th October staff and students wore pink to raise awareness for breast cancer. A group of students arranged the day to show support and raise money, as well as running a fundraising stall all week in the upper study area. The stall included a number of activities to build donations for the charity Breast Cancer Now, including a jewellery sale, name the bunny, and guess the number of sweets in the jar. In total, from the stall and the Just Giving page, around £400 has been raised.

The charity is there to support anyone who has been affected by breast cancer, providing support for today and hope for the future. Their goal is that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live - and be supported to live well. A link to the Just Giving page can be found here.

It was great to see so many staff and students in pink!
