Last week, Business CTEC hosted the Inspirational Learning Group and the Financial Conduct Authority in a heat of the Scam Smart Challenge. This employer-led programme combines financial education with careers and employability skills through an immersive business challenge that tackles a real-world issue.
Students develop skills in presentation, communication, teamwork and problem solving. This heat's challenge was to develop a targeted campaign that would raise awareness of potential scams and educate individuals on the steps they could take to protect themselves from being victims of finance fraud. It particularly focused on AI-generated financial scams and those who could be more susceptible to falling victim.
This heat determined which teams would head down to London in March to compete in the national competition against other schools in the UK. Well done to everyone who was involved!
