Tyler Pickles, Notre Dame alumni, is currently starring in Channel 4's new coming-of-age dance school drama 'Dreamers'. The show explores the lives of the 'Chapeltown Collective', an eclectic group of Leeds dance students making moves as they navigate romance, rivalry and ambition, both on and off the dancefloor.
The series' characters are inspired by true stories from Leeds with support from the Young Audiences Content Fund, who have supported its inclusive and authentic approach. 4Skills at Channel 4 funded full-time training placements during Dreamers production, helping 10 local people to break into the broadcast industry. Placements included training, mentoring, one-to-one sessions, and career planning.
Following studying at Notre Dame in 2018-2020, including Drama and Theatre A-level, Tyler commends the Theatre Arts department, crediting them for his decision to become an actor. The department and everyone at Notre Dame is incredibly proud of what Tyler has achieved so far, and we can't wait to see what he does next!
The 6 episode series is available to stream here on Channel 4.
