Last week, our BTEC Musical Theatre students, as well as some Theatre Enrichment students, performed three nights of Matilda the Musical to friends and family in a packed theatre. After months of rehearsals, the students excelled in their performance with singing, dancing, and acting the story of Matilda.
The week began with a matinee performance to local school sin the area, including Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School, Mount St Mary's, and Meanwood C of E Primary School. It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to warm up their vocal chords ahead of the evening performances, as well as show our visiting students a flavour of what the Musical Theatre course and Theatre Arts department is like.

Performances were then held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night last week.
Mia Peel, who played Matilda said 'I had so much fun throughout Matilda, I loved how we were all together working and combining our creativity!'
Grace Harrison, who played Mrs Wormwood and Hortensia said 'The show brought everyone together with hard work and determination, the final piece was so rewarding and I wish we could do it all over again!'

Teacher of Musical Theatre, directed the performance, helping at every step of the way with feedback and rehearsals - the performance wouldn't have been possible without her. Thanks also go out to the Theatre Technicians, the Product Design Department for their help with the set, and staff and other schools who provided props.
