Law Mentoring with Bevan Brittan

For the last five years the Law department have partnered with Bevan Brittan, a law firm in Leeds City Centre. Bevan Brittan is a leading commercial law firm with recognised expertise in housing, local government, and health and social care. They are specialists in construction, energy and resource management, higher education and financial service sectors.

Every year, between 10 and 15 of our students have been given a mentor by the firm who works with the student over a period of eight months, supporting them with UCAS and apprenticeship applications as well as sharing what the day to day work of a solicitor looks like. This gives students a valuable contact they can continue to work with after they have left Notre Dame too, helping to build a network of professional contacts - something very helpful and important in the legal sector.

This year, there are 14 students taking part who have been matched up with mentors from the firm, ranging from paralegals and trainee solicitors all the way to partner level solicitors. Two of this year's mentors are Notre Dame alumni and it's fantastic to see our previous students succeeding.
