Over the summer break, five prospective Notre Dame students participated in the first annual filmmaking summer school, offered by our Media department. Over the course of the week, students learned how to use the specialist equipment and software, how to write a script in industry standard format, and how to create an effective storyboard. The students then tested this knowledge while filming their original short film 'After the Bell'.
One participant said, 'This summer school has made me even more excited to come to Notre Dame'. All students had applied to study Media A-level with us starting this September.
Another reflected on the week, 'I had an amazing time, and it has helped me form friendships with people who have similar interests to me'.
We can't wait to wait the new students in for lessons next week, and see where the annual filmmaking summer school goes - there could be some Oscar winners coming through our doors!
