'Easter Traditions and Homemade Treats to Enjoy'

Easter is a time that brings people together, and no celebrations can be done without food!

Different countries around the world celebrate Easter with their own unique and delicious traditional foods. In the UK, hot cross buns are one of the classic Easter treats. These soft, spiced buns are usually filled with currants or raisins and are marked with a cross on top to symbolise the crucifixion of Jesus. Hot cross buns were traditionally eaten on Good Friday but are now enjoyed throughout the whole Easter. Greece celebrates with tsoureki, a braided bread often decorated with red eggs while Italy is known for Colomba di Pasqua, a sweet dove-shaped bread topped with almonds.

Some of you might have leftover chocolate eggs every year, but don’t let them go to waste! They are perfect for making chocolate Easter nest cakes, aka, cornflake cakes which everyone loves.

Quick Guide on How to Make Chocolate Easter Nest Cakes

  1. Melt chocolate and mix with syrup or butter.
  2. Stir in cornflakes until they are coated with chocolate.
  3. Spoon into paper cases and chill in the fridge for an hour.
  4. Top with mini Easter eggs, then serve and enjoy!

All these Easter treats, from traditional to handmade, are perfect to share with family and friends during the celebration.
