Charity Walk Raises Over £6000 for Teenage Cancer Trust

Family and friends of a former Notre Dame student, who died of cancer in 2019, took part in a charity walk across Leeds to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust over the summer break.

Joe Collins was a student at Notre Dame but was diagnosed with cancer whilst studying at university. Joe, who was the nephew of A-level History teacher Marie-Claire Keddie, sadly died in 2019.

Joe was a keen supporter of Leeds United Football Club. In his honour, family and friends completed a 73-mile walk from Kirkby Lonsdale to Elland Road on the 19th and 20th of August.

Over £6000 for Teenage Cancer Trust was raised, a charity that cared for Joe at St James's Hospital during his illness.
