A-level Business students have been studying the confectionary industry as part of their preparations for Paper 3, and they were delighted to welcome former Notre Dame student Liz Butterworth, proprietor of The Sweet Quarter in Chapel Allerton in Leeds.
Liz spoke to students about her entrepreneurial journey and the challenges of operating in a dynamic and competitive market. She shared insights into changing consumer trends, including the growing popularity of sour flavours, as well as the impact of rising cocoa prices on the industry,
Students commented on how Liz helped them understand the ways in which a small business can build strong customer loyalty and maintain a competitive advantage in a challenging in environment.
Thank you Liz for taking the time to support our A-level Business students. We wish them every success in Paper 3 and hope it proves to be a sweet success!
