43 Notre Dame students were invited to the University of Huddersfield for a Digital Games Taster Day on Wednesday November 3.
The students, from a mix of upper and lower sixth Digital Department classes, participated in two engaging and interactive workshops, as well as taking a tour around Canalside Studios, an award-winning games development studio based in the School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Huddersfield. They also attended a talk from university staff that explained the relevant undergraduate degrees on offer.
The workshops were: An Introduction to UE4 Blueprinting, Creating a Bridge using Advanced Programming Software; and Sculpt an Alien with Zbrush.
Teacher of T Level Digital, Games and CTEC Level 2 Mohammed Khalid said, “The day provided our students with an insight into different degrees and routes available within the digital games sector. This experience has given them a lot to think about.”
