Top Teamwork at Technology Tournament

On 10 March a team of four A level Product Design students from Notre Dame entered the 2020 Rotary Technology Tournament hosted at the John Charles Leisure Centre in Leeds.

This competition is an annual event lasting one day. Students who take part are faced with a blind design brief to work on as a team. They are judged on a range of criteria, and Rotary members evaluate their design solutions.

The 2020 competition was very well attended with more than 40 teams from secondary schools and colleges across the region.

Our students showed themselves to be a communicative and well-oiled team, producing a very innovative and creative solution to the design brief set. You can see their final product in the photo above, displayed proudly by students Casper Chang, Jake Ellis, Sam Eskriett and Callum Stainforth.

Head of Product Design Mr Ian Granger said, ‘The competition gave our students the opportunity to show their time management and development skills in a time pressured situation. I am really proud of their attitude and persistence towards the challenge.’
