Students snap up a photography challenge

Photographs by Mohammed Meghraoua

Notre Dame’s Art department ran an exciting college wide photography competition to capture to colleges’ creative talents. The brief was to depict the diversity of Leeds and Notre Dame College, with no limitations on style or photographic format.

The department were delighted by submissions from both Art students and none Art students.  A wide variety of work was submitted, incorporating the use of use of old style film cameras, and digital photo editing.

The Art department said “It was interesting to see how students had interpreted the brief, and what they saw as a significant characteristics to Notre Dame. Overall it was excellent to see the effort students had put in, and high quality work with advanced and forward thinking themes.”

The decision was tough with the range of imaginative pieces, but a congratulation is in order for competition winner Mohammed Meghraoua. The pieces will be on display around the college and also feature in the A level Art end of year show exhibition held on at Notre Dame College on Wednesday 20th June until 7.00pm.
