On Friday May 21 and Monday May 24, Notre Dame’s lower sixth business students attended exclusive online lectures with Leeds University Business School.
Lecturer Ms. Jo Townsend gave a talk to each class called The Hunter and the Hunted, explaining how the external environment provides opportunities and challenges for businesses.
Following on from this, postgraduate students from the School, Toby Fensome and Andrea Drobna, introduced each group to market analysis using the fashion industry as an example, specifically the company Missguided. Our students worked in groups to carry out a SWOT analysis for this company, determining its Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and the Threats it faces in 2021.
Lower sixth student Joynul Hoque said, “It was a good insight into the fashion industry and provided us with ways in which businesses can analyse their position in a market.”
