On Tuesday 26 June, 39 lower sixth students attended a Student Life day at the University of York. The purpose of this visit wasn’t to provide students with information about specific degree subjects but to introduce them to aspects of student life including student finance, the different societies they could join, studying abroad while on their university course, and the day-to-day life of a university student. They were also able to sample university cuisine and took part in a campus tour.
Feedback from staff at the university was extremely positive: ‘These are some of the best students we’ve had visiting us. They have been very engaged and all got involved in everything.’
The students themselves had a very enjoyable day, one commenting: ‘It’s been really useful. The tour was great and really gave me an insight into life on campus.’
