On December 8, 60 of our A level Biology students took part in an inspiring live-streamed lecture series delivered by renowned scientists and communicators.
This Biology in Action event included lectures from:
- Dr Helen Pilcher, who discussed genetic modification and evolution.
- Nessa Carey, who explained epigenetics.
- Professor Tim Spector, who presented his ideas about how a healthy gut leads to a healthy body.
- Rohin Francis, whose subject was heart disease.
The series also included a session with hints and tips for revision and exam success, as well as a ‘meet the biologists’ panel where three leading scientists presented their research.
Mrs. Sue Lowe, Head of Biology, said the event was excellent and thanked her team for their efforts to ensure it went ahead, enriching the students’ experience of their subject.
