Outstanding Results for the Class of 2020

Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College are proud to announce our students have once again achieved exceptional results despite the national downgrading scandal resulting in some students not receiving the grades they deserve.

Exceptional teaching and our long track record of success have meant 892 A Level high grades (A*-B) were achieved; 81% of students achieved high grade (D*-D) in BTEC and CTEC courses; 448 A*-A grades were achieved; and 155 high grades were achieved across A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Students gained exceptional results in particular subject areas including 88% of A Level Art students achieving a high grade (A*-B); 2 in 3 A Level Maths students gained a high grade and 100% of EPQ students achieved an A*-C grade.

Each year a number of the College’s students go on to secure places at the most highly sought after and competitive universities in the country, including Oxford and Cambridge. We are pleased to announce 8 Oxbridge applicants achieved their place this year. This can be put down, in part, to the College’s Enhancing Excellence programme. Notre Dame students are at the front of the queue when it comes to receiving the best advice, guidance, support, and preparation when applying to Oxbridge and also to other Russell Group universities.

Notre Dame Principal, Justine Barlow said: “This year has been like no other and our students have faced unique challenges over the last few months. I would like to thank not only our students but our parents and dedicated staff who always go above and beyond to support our students. Congratulations to all and we wish you all the best in your bright futures”.
