Mi Casa es Su Casa for Spanish Students

25 of our students and three staff spent nine days of their Easter break in sunny Spain. Each student lodged with a host Spanish family for the trip, a great way for them to experience true Spanish life!

The group took part in a whole host of activities during their stay, including an excursion to the picturesque coastal city of San Sebastián. Students had the opportunity to interact with locals and embrace Spanish culture. There was also time to visit the San Sebastián Aquarium, the first natural science museum in Spain!

On the Saturday the group saw the wonderful sights of Zumaia and its unusual rock formations, locally knows as ‘the Flysch’. They took part in a walking tour along the cliffs to view what is considered one of the greatest geological sanctuaries in the world, and which has been used as a setting for popular TV program Game of Thrones. On the itinerary for Sunday was Hondarribia, a Unesco World Heritage Site home to a beautiful coastal village with a medieval quarter.

Students also found time in their busy schedule to participate in Salsa dance lessons, taste traditional ‘chocolate con churros’, and receive Spanish language lessons.
