On Wednesday 28 November, 80 A level Film and Media Studies students took part in a revision workshop led by Roy Stafford. Mr Stafford is well known for writing The Media Student’s Book: the most widely used media and film textbook for university students.
Our students experienced a customised and inspiring university-style lecture in which Mr Stafford explored thought-provoking insights into Hollywood classics and TV drama. Student Maia Hall said: ‘Roy’s wide references to other seminal film and media texts inspired me to develop my own understanding of different film genres.’ Student Becky Holmes commented: ‘I enjoyed the university-style presentation as it gave me an example of what to expect in a film and media university course.’
This event was organised as part of Notre Dame’s NCOP Future Media Programme by our NCOP staff and the Media and Film Studies Department.
