Engineering a Successful Future: An Introduction

On Tuesday 27 November, Notre Dame students who are part of our Future Engineers Programme had the opportunity to attend an inspiring and informative presentation delivered by Dr David Love from Leeds Beckett University.

Dr Love is the Course Director in the School of Computing, Creative Technologies and Engineering at the university. He visited Notre Dame to introduce our students to the engineering sector, explaining the difference between incorporated and chartered engineering. He also spoke about current policy changes and key global issues such as climate change, then advised our students to keep up to date with news and current affairs if they would like to study engineering at university.

Ms Mary Owoo, our NCOP Higher Education Progression Officer, said: ‘This was a fantastic introduction to engineering for lower sixth students who are starting to consider this as a career path, and it provided useful insights for upper sixth students preparing for university interviews.’
