Art Student Creates Grenfell Memorial

Upper sixth art student Kimberley Kamau decided to commemorate the Grenfell Tower victims when she created her final piece of coursework for the subject.

She said, “My work explores the many emotions that come with memory, loss and trauma, so I wanted to represent the emotions of the family and friends of the Grenfell victims through an installation altar piece. I’m influenced by other artists such as Sigmar Polke, and artwork including Queen and Country by British artist Steve McQueen.”

College Lay Chaplain Mr. Andrew Sullivan added, “Each of the Grenfell victims has their names inscribed in Kim’s art. Thank you Kim for sharing such a loving and thoughtful dedication.”
