Congratulations to students Fajr Fehintola, Jessica Fakoya and Paige Fitzsimmons, who have been elected as Notre Dame’s new African Caribbean Society Committee!
The Society (ACS) has 21 members, who’ve so far met via Microsoft Teams, and have grand plans for the year ahead. These include an educational event to raise awareness of the portrayal of African and Caribbean peoples in the media, fashion shows, and cultural celebrations. All these activities will enable members to gain excellent employability skills - such as organization, team work, and communication - that they can include on their CV’s and in their UCAS personal statements, as well as developing their compassion and confidence. The ACS will access funding from the college UniConnect budget to support their events.
All students would be welcome to join the ACS, regardless of their background. If you’re interested, please email careers@ndonline.ac.uk with the subject ‘ACS’.
