Thursday 8th February 2018 saw our annual Careers Fair at Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College.
48 businesses and institutions visited the college providing students with an opportunity to talk with them about work experience, apprenticeships, job vacancies, volunteering, and careers advice. Some of the businesses included: Aon, BT, Hermes, Minster Law Solicitors, Nestle, PwC, Sky, and West Yorkshire Police.
Ex-Notre Dame student, Clare Devine, attended the event representing her current employer Sky. Clare became involved with Sky after taking part in an apprenticeship workshop set up by our Careers Department. She stated that Notre Dame fully supported her decision to move onto a Sky apprenticeship, and she has since been named in Code First: Girls “Ones to Watch” 2017 list. Clare will be visiting Notre Dame again to run her own apprenticeship workshop with students.
This fantastic event, organised by our Careers Department, is just one of many opportunities in place for our students. Other careers support and guidance provided includes CV writing workshops, interview skills sessions, GAP year options workshops, and one to one meetings with careers advisors.
Thank you to the Careers Department for a truly enhancing event, and thank you to all the businesses that visited, contributing to the success of the day.
