Well done to second year student George Srisawang, who was successfully selected from over 200 other rugby players to attend trials with local semi-professional team Hunslet Hawks RLFC at the weekend.
George, along with 60 other players, took part in the Hunslet RLFC Rookie Tournament on Saturday and is now waiting to hear if he has been successful. Hunslet Hawks were founded in 1973 and now play in Championship One. A member of the Notre Dame rugby team, college coach Linda Hemingway recommended that George take part in a ‘rookie’ trial match at the club – and the recommendation paid off!
George studies Applied Science and Physics and is hoping to attend a University in September where he can continue to play rugby.
