Sports at Notre Dame THE FOOTBALL ACADEMY Students who want to combine education and football, and seek a career in a related area, have the opportunity to study at Notre Dame while developing their sporting abilities. SPORTS LEADER’S AWARD This course is entirely practical and is aimed at developing leadership skills through sport. Achieving this qualification will show that you are able to organise and lead groups of people in an efficient and effective way. The ability to lead, communicate and work as a team has value within any work place or institute of higher education. If you are motivated to develop your leadership skills and would like to join in fun group activities this is the course for you. The course will only take one year to complete and the Sports Leader’s Award is a nationally recognised qualification that will complement your academic studies. THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S AWARD The Award is available to every student and there are no entry requirements. The Award provides excellent opportunities to experience a wide variety of activities outside of college life. You need to be aware that you will have to dedicate a considerable amount of your own time to complete the Award. Students work on different sections of the Award during their own time and have instruction from qualified staff in the expedition section. This Award is prestigious and valued by a range of influential people, organisations and employers. |
