Mr Coen is Retiring After 28 Years at Notre Dame!

After a happy and successful 28 years, Mr Terry Coen will be retiring as Principal of Notre Dame on April 27th 2018. Mr Coen has worked at the College in various different roles since it opened in 1989, firstly as Head of Science, finally as Principal since 2011.

Mr Coen said, ‘It has been a great privilege to lead such an able and dedicated group of staff over the last seven years, and I have greatly enjoyed my contact with students and parents over that time.’

The Governors have appointed Mrs Justine Barlow, ex Vice Principal of Cardinal Newman Catholic Sixth Form College in Preston, as the new Principal. Mr Coen offers Justine his sincere congratulations and very best wishes.

One of the many highlights of working at Notre Dame was celebrating the College’s 25th anniversary, rejoicing in Notre Dame’s sense of community and Catholic ethos – something Mr Coen will miss greatly.

The College Governors, staff and students all join to wish Mr Coen a long, happy and healthy retirement as he looks forward to spending more time with his family and enjoying the Northumberland countryside.
