Ex Notre Dame Staff Member Becomes World Champion!

Notre Dame are extremely proud to announce that Claire O’Hara, an ex-student and staff member, has won a gold medal at the 2015 World Freestyle Kayaking Championships.
Claire worked for Notre Dame as Enhancement Co-ordinator for several years and has also held the position of a freelance instructor for Leeds Beckett University and the National Water Sports Centre.
The world championships were held in Ottowa, Canada in the summer; as well as a gold in the Squirt Boat final, Claire also bagged a bronze medal in the Freestyle Kayak event. She is the only freestyle kayak ever to have doubled the double and currently holds the world record for the highest competitive women’s scores in both disciplines.
Everyone at Notre Dame sends their congratulations to Claire and wishes her the very best in her kayaking career.
