This course will give you the knowledge and skills you need to cope confidently and effectively with basic financial transactions.
You will learn about: bank accounts, how to manage cash, saving and borrowing money and how to understand basic financial language. You will go on to learn more about sources of financial advice and money, its uses and legal constraints, foreign exchange, the consequences of borrowing money, and using calculations to make spending choices.
It is possible to combine GCSEs with this qualification.
What will I study?
You will study three units:
Unit 1 – Personal Financial Encounters
Unit 2 – Money Management Solutions
Unit 3 – Personal Finance Management
A pass must be achieved in all three examinations to gain the qualification.
Successful completion of the course, alongside other qualifications, offers the following routes for progression:
– Direct entry into employment
– Further learning opportunities within employment e.g. an apprenticeship
– BTEC/CTEC or A level study
