What do I need to study this course?

You will need at least a grade 3 in GCSE English and Maths or a level 1 qualification in business or ICT.


What will I study?

This qualification is ideal if you’re preparing for employment in the business sector, particularly for job roles where you will be expected to use communication and IT skills, liaise with customers, and carry out customer-facing tasks. To achieve this qualification you will study a total of eight units, consisting of two core units, one mandatory unit, and four optional units, one of which is a double unit.

Unit 1: Enterprise in the Business World (assessed through coursework)

Unit 2: Finance for Business (assessed through examination)

Mandatory Unit

Unit 9: Principles of Marketing, (assessed through examination)

Optional Units

Unit 3: Promoting a Brand

Unit 6: Introducing Retail Business

Unit 13: Financial Planning and Forecasting

Unit 14: Business Online (double unit)

Overall, five units are assessed through coursework and two are externally assessed.


What next?
