What do I need to study this course?

GCSE Grade C or above in Art and Design or a BTEC 2 year diploma in Art and Design Merit or Distinction, also English Language at GCSE grade 4 or above.

What will I study?

Component 1: Coursework (50% of the total qualification)
Incorporates two major elements – supporting studies and practical work. Supporting studies and practical work will comprise a portfolio of development themes and ideas developed from personal starting points.

Component 2: Externally set assignment (50% of the total qualification)
Work journal/sketchbook, personal investigation and final piece(s).

The emphasis of the course is on developing your own ideas and creativity with constant reference to contemporary art practice and culture. You will be given on-going and constant feedback that will allow you to refine and develop your working practices, allowing you to meet your full creative potential. We will introduce you to a wide range of contextual sources both historical and contemporary.

All work is externally moderated.
