The Diocese supports a variety of organisations working with disadvantaged groups within our Diocese. There are Chaplaincies supporting those in prison or hospital as well as a number of other Chaplaincies and Catholic Associations that operate at a Diocesan level that provide many services to people in need. All this work is in addition to the groups and projects within individual parishes: helping refugees and migrants, activities for young people, activities for older people, all sorts of parish groups that seek to help those in need in their local area.
Caritas Leeds is an umbrella organisation where all charities, agencies, projects, services and groups that are involved in social action or social care in the Diocese of Leeds, can meet together on a regular basis.
The event took place at Notre Dame on 23rd September 2017 and was introduced by the Bishop of Leeds, the Right Rev Marcus Stock who is pictured here with governors Tony Britton and Rev Deacon David Arblaster.
