
After A Levels at Notre Dame, Nyein studied for a degree in Physics at UCL. He went on to do his Masters there and completed his PhD in June 2012. Dr Chan has recently accepted a Professorship with an Australian University. Nyein feels that Notre Dame helped with his success: “I had my viva yesterday and I passed my PhD so I’m very pleased and happy. This owes to the solid foundation built at Notre Dame and the dedication of my old teachers. Without Notre Dame, I wouldn’t be here today, so I believe this is a good time for me to once again say thanks for everything you have done during my time in Leeds.”

After A Levels in Maths, Further Maths and Physics, Sisi studied Engineering Science at Magdalen College, the University of Oxford. At Oxford she was President of the Oxford University Engineering Society; Committee and casting member of the Oxford Chinese Drama Society; and was a member of the Oxford University Dance Sport Team. She worked in USA after graduation and is now working in the UK as a Finance, Asset Management and Banking Operation Consultant in Edinburgh.

After studying at Notre Dame, Daria graduated with a BA in History from the University of Cambridge. She then became a Masters student in History at School of Slavonic and East European Studies at University College London. Daria appreciated her time at Notre Dame: “I consider myself to be very lucky having been at Notre Dame. The teaching staff are absolutely amazing. I am particularly indebted to Ms Rose Lou, Mr Oakley, Mr Chapman, Mrs Rothbury, Mrs Beaumont and Dr Foster (he taught in the first year) for their support, encouragement and the amount of new knowledge they gave me. I often remember the teachers and I am always very grateful to them.”

John read Mathematics with Education at Cambridge University. After graduation he took his professional examinations and went on to become an Actuarial Analyst working in the City of London.

Pablo studied ICT, Music, English Language and Spanish A Levels and really engaged with the spirit and community life at Notre Dame, representing the College in a Dragon Boat Race and even volunteering to return whilst he was studying for his degree to offer Conversational Spanish Classes to Notre Dame Students! He completed his degree and is currently studying a post graduate course, PGCE/Cert.Ed in order to become a teacher in the UK.
