What do I need to study this course?

A desire to complete a qualification beyond GCSE Maths to support your programme of study and explore how mathematics is applied in other disciplines and in the real world.You will need to have at least a grade 5 in GCSE maths.

What will I study?

This course is designed to be studied alongside your other advanced subjects. You will be required to attend 2 lessons per week for 2 years. The whole emphasis of the course is on applying mathematics. You will study statistical techniques and analyse data, financial mathematics and Decision Maths methods including Critical Path Analysis.

What next?

Mathematical studies is recognised by universities and successful completion of the course will qualify you for UCAS points. This subject will complement many programmes of study including sciences, social sciences, health and social care and business. It will demonstrate your ability to work
mathematically beyond GCSE and is therefore a useful qualification for those students who enjoy maths and are interested in its applications but do not wish to take up maths at university.
