There are 4 different levels of apprenticeships: intermediate, advanced, higher, and degree. The national minimum wage for an apprentice is £3.50 per hour (from April 2017). Did you know there are over 250 different apprenticeships available in sectors such as marketing, law, finance, IT, engineering, admin, health and social care, and more.
An apprenticeship is a great way to start learning on the job; students will work towards a qualification at the same time as developing employability skills and earning money.
Notre Dame Sixth Form College has seen several students’ progress successfully in their careers from starting as an apprentice with companies such as Nestle, PWC, Unilever, BAE Systems, Sky, Plexus, and Leeds City Council. Notre Dame offers lunch time information sessions throughout the year with employers, as well as holding a large careers fair with more than 50 different organisations where students can find out more about apprenticeships.
If you are studying A levels at Notre Dame and would like to find out more about the wide range of apprenticeships available please book a careers appointment with careers team.
